WHAT DOES ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT (ACL) MEAN?

Amount of ACL injuries among kids increases over the years. This increasing number of contusions is connected with more sport activities of the children and examinations which are done by sport doctors. Smaller anterior cruciate ligament diameter in girls is a predictor of subjects prone to ligament injuries.

ACL injuries are usually connected with sudden knee sprain and torn meniscus and they are the reason of leg immobilization for a long weeks. Chronic ACL sprains cause functional knee instability in children. The treatment of damaged ligament may be divided into conservative, when the kid’s bone are immaturity, or operative, if conservative treatment do not do the job or if the injury includes ligaments together with meniscus. Knee brace AM-DOSK-Z/1R is made of innovative and skin-friendly fabric SoftComfort™.

SoftComfort™ - a material specially designed to relieve very delicate places on the patient's body. The cover knit used in the production is made in such a way that it can come into contact with very sensitive skin. This raw material has the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate and complies with the European REACH standard. The structure of the material consists of a very soft comfort foam laminated with a delicate cover knit. The fabric has a perforation that facilitates the flow of air through the material and allows the skin to breathe. The SoftComfort™ material is perfect for the production of linings relieving the rigid and inflexible elements of orthopedic orthoses.

Aluminium slide splints provide complex support and prevent against the knee instability. The splints are anatomic shaped and reduce the pressure on the bony prominences e.g. condyles of femur. The splints are made of the highest quality light weight materials.

The orthopaedic splint 1R is our innovative solution patented in the EU. The drop lock is very small (diameter: 30 mm) and provides 15° ROM adjustment. In addition, we apply the allen screws, which are mounted by steel pins and magnet. The most innovative is the blocking disk with the ratchet, which ensures required angle of ROM.

Due to this fact, our orthopaedic splint 1R provides more anatomic and safety stabilization and immobilization than traditional plaster cast.

Our kids knee brace AM-DOSK-Z/1R has sleeve design which guarantees as precise stabilization as possible. The upper part of the brace is wrap around designed so it’s easy to putting on and fits precisely in case of swelling.

Our kids knee brace AM-DOSK-Z/1R is equipped with special patella donut. It’s all round lightweight knee cap support which prevents against the patellar maltracking and dislocation. Also, the kneecap donut supports patellofemoral joint and prevents against the chondromalacia.

Our brace has two rear and frontal circumferential straps which provide additional stabilization and compression.

Rear part of the knee brace is made of fabric for good skin breathing and wicking the sweat away. The fabric is smooth and do not cause any skin lesions.

Patella donut prevents against kneecap maltracking and reduces pressure on the patellar ligament and limits the pain caused by Osgood-Schlatter disease. In case of ligaments injury, 1r orthodesign drop lock provides range of motion adjustment in every 15o. Internal cotton layer is soft and skin friendly. The fabric keeps the skin dry and promotes healing reducing the swelling and bruising.
